How much is Salik in 2026?
- AED 4 per gate during normal hours.
- AED 6 per gate during peak hours (typically morning and evening rush).
- A daily cap applies so a single day’s crossings can’t run away from you.
Who pays — you or the rental company?
Salik crossings during your rental are billed to the vehicle and then passed to you. The thing to watch for is markup: some companies add a per-crossing "service" fee on top of the toll. We pass Salik through at cost — you pay the AED 4/6, nothing extra.
How to keep Salik low
Sheikh Zayed Road and the main crossings have the most gates. Apps like Google Maps will route you around tolls if you ask. For most visitors, Salik adds only AED 20–60 across a whole trip — small, but worth knowing so it’s never a surprise on the final bill.
